Ariana Grande sets out ‘clear bag’ policy for upcoming 2019 tour

Ariana Grande has encouraged her fans to bring ‘clear bags’ to her upcoming ‘Sweetener/Thank U, Next’ tour, in a bid to increase security at venues.

The highly acclaimed Florida born pop singer begins her UK leg of the tour on 17 August at the O2 Arena, London and is set to perform at major cities across the country in September, including both Birmingham (14th) and Glasgow (17th).

Ari’s return to the UK marks over a year since her benefit concert ‘One Love Manchester’ that was organised by herself and manager Scooter Braun in support of those lost and injured in the Manchester Bombing Attack on 22 May 2017.

‘One Love Manchester’ was aired live across the UK on radio and BBC One, featuring the likes of Justin Bieber and Katy Perry. The televised show was viewed by more than 22.6 million people (that watched at least 3 minutes of the programme) making it the UK’s most watched TV event of 2017.

This week, Ariana posted more details on Instagram about her highly anticipated 2019 tour, including what to expect with security before entering the venue, she wrote: “Dear Sweetener/ Thank U Next tour audience friends, we’re sending out emails soon encouraging you to order a clear bag to bring your things into the venues as security is going to be very precise and smooth but for sure super strict.”
