It has been said that after the release in November, over 685,000 copies of the album have been sold, overtaking Emile Sandé’s record for Our Version of Events from 2012.
The One Direction boys have spoken about their massive achievement with Liam saying “This tops an amazing year for us. We’re so excited to have the biggest selling album in the UK this year, especially with a record we are all so proud of”.
After an incredible year of a worldwide tour, this record has gone down as a great memory for the five boys and after, Liam continued with “we’d like to thank everyone who has bought the album, it really means a lot to us.”
The first week of Midnight Memories saw 237,000 copies sold making it the number one album which kicked off the biggest selling album of the year. This is also the fastest selling album out of the three the boyband have released.
Their previous two albums sold over 100,000 copies in their first week which of course were massive sales, but Midnight Memories will definitely leave a memory!
The boy’s are getting ready to release their third single from the album after having two top ten chart hits with Best Song Ever and Story Of My Life.
