Disney’s hit movie Frozen will be made into a Broadway Musical!
The film, which was released last year, has already scooped up a Golden Globe award for Best Animation and its sound track sung by Idina Menzel reached number one in the US albums chart.
The exciting news was confirmed by Disney CEO and chairman Bob Iger in an interview with Fortune.
He revealed that there’s no time frame on the project and the company are currently in talks about it. Bob also said that there is not a creative team involved yet.
“We’re not demanding speed. We’re demanding excellence,” Iger said.
“If you think long-term about what Disney is and the success and the vitality of the brand, this is a very, very important event.”
Frozen was a box office hit for Disney, making over $700 million so far around the globe! This makes it the second best grossing non-Pixar Disney animation of all time, after The Lion King, which made Disney $987.5 million!
