ITV have ordered a one-off documentary showing behind the scenes of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
ITV has announced that it will be airing a one-off documentary about the making of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
Saturday Night Takeaway returns for its 19th series this Saturday on ITV at 7pm, and has become a staple of British television since its debut in 2002, regularly attracting millions of viewers.
The documentary will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the popular entertainment show. A separate film crew will document proceedings over the course of the new series, with the one-hour special set to air on both ITV1 and ITVX later this year.
Fans of the show can look forward to an exclusive look at how the show is made, from the writing and planning stages to the production and live broadcast. The documentary will also feature interviews with Ant and Dec, as well as members of the production team and celebrity guests.
Ant said: “We are really excited to lift the curtain a little on Saturday Night Takeaway,
“We’ll have footage of all the ups and downs, the last-minute dramas that come with making a weekly live entertainment show. Believe me there are lots of dramas that happen behind the scenes.”
Dec added: “We love watching fly on the wall shows like Drive To Survive which goes behind the scenes of F1 so thought it could be really fun to allow the cameras to see how we make Saturday Night Takeaway.
“I’d love to see Behind The Screens on more entertainment shows.”
With the show’s enduring popularity and the behind-the-scenes access promised by the documentary, it’s sure to be a hit with fans of Ant & Dec and Saturday Night Takeaway.
