Experience the magic of musical theatre from the comfort of your own home as The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals airs on BBC One this weekend.

The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals is set to be broadcast on BBC One at 7.50pm on Saturday 25 March, offering a night of thrilling performances from some of the most beloved shows on the West End. With 13 shows featured in the 90-minute event, viewers are in for a treat with a star-studded line-up of performers showcasing some of the most memorable musical numbers of all time.
The event was filmed at Manchester’s AO Arena last month and is hosted by the ever-charismatic Jason Manford. The evening is set to kick off with a performance from Brenda Edwards and the cast of We Will Rock You. The excitement continues with Lauren Byrne and the Matilda cast performing a medley of “Naughty”, “Revolting Children” and “When I Grow Up”, followed by Helen George and Darren Lee’s rendition of “Shall We Dance” from The King and I.
The company of Six is also set to deliver a stunning performance of “Haus of Holbein” and “Six”, while Nathania Ong’s powerful vocals will be on full display with her performance of “On My Own” from Les Misérables. Jason Manford, Flash Musicals and Pendleton Choir will come together for an unforgettable rendition of “From Now On” from The Greatest Showman.

Antony Lawrence, Joanne Clifton, and Brandon Lee Sears will perform “I’m A Believer” from Shrek the Musical, while Bronté Barbé and the cast of Newsies will take the stage with “King of New York”. Melody Thornton will belt out “I Will Always Love You” from The Bodyguard, followed by the cast of Ain’t Too Proud performing a medley of “My Girl” / “Get Ready” / “I Can’t Get Next To You”.
Laura Pick is set to stun with her rendition of “Defying Gravity” from Wicked, and the cast of Hamilton will perform “My Shot”. Michael Ball will deliver a heartwarming rendition of “Love Changes Everything” from Aspects of Love, and the evening will end on a high note with the cast of Mamma Mia! performing “Mamma Mia” / “Dancing Queen”.
The event will also offer a special behind-the-scenes look at Heathers the Musical, as well as an appearance from Aspects of Love composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. With such an impressive line-up, The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals promises to be a night to remember for all music lovers.
