Paul Cattermole, a former member of S Club 7, has passed away at the age of 46, just weeks after the band announced their reunion tour. The news of his death has left his bandmates and fans in shock and disbelief.

Cattermole had left the band in 2002, but he was set to join his former bandmates for a tour scheduled later this year. His death comes as a huge blow to the group, who were eagerly looking forward to their reunion.

According to reports, there are “no suspicious circumstances” surrounding his death, but the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.

Cattermole had continued to work in the entertainment industry after leaving S Club 7. He formed a new group, Skua, but they split a year later. He also appeared in a production of The Rocky Horror Show but had to leave the show after suffering a back injury.

In 2018, he made headlines when he sold his Brit Award for £60,000 on eBay, revealing that he was struggling financially. He later found work as a station manager for a community radio station in Dorset and provided online tarot card services.

S Club 7 was one of the most successful pop groups of the late 1990s and early 2000s. They recorded four studio albums, released eleven singles, and sold over 14 million albums worldwide. They had four UK No.1 singles and one UK No.1 album and had hits across Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa.

The group had announced their reunion tour to mark their 25th anniversary, and all seven original members had agreed to reunite. The tour was set to take place in October, with 11 dates across the UK and Ireland.

Cattermole had spoken about the success of S Club 7 in a 2019 interview with The Guardian, saying: “The style and energy that was portrayed was coming from us, entirely. There was no management in that. The actual thing that people were buying into came from us. We created that sort of fun energy on our own.”

Fans of S Club 7 and Cattermole’s work have been sharing their condolences on social media, remembering him for his talent and contributions to the entertainment industry.
