Heathers the Musical coming to UK screens: Filmed version to stream next month

Heathers the Musical, the award-winning stage production based on the cult classic film, is coming to screens in the UK next month.

Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment has announced that the filmed version of Heathers the Musical will be available to stream exclusively on Icon Film Channel from 1 May and will remain on the service for one month.

The production can be accessed via the company’s app, including Apple TV, Android TV, Samsung Smart TV, Amazon Fire, Roku, Xbox, iOS, and Android. It will also be available to stream through the Amazon Prime Video channel.

Alongside the show itself, the UK release includes a special ten-minute “Behind The Scenes at The Other Palace” bonus feature, offering a glimpse into the production process.

For those who prefer physical media, a DVD and Blu-Ray release has been confirmed for 5 June. These editions also come with a bonus feature, including 13 minutes of extended interviews with the cast and crew. The Blu-Ray edition will also feature a sing-along version, allowing fans to belt out their favourite tunes alongside the talented cast.

Heathers the Musical has book, music, and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe, with choreography by Gary Lloyd, designs by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound by Dan Samson. The production, in collaboration with Steam Motion and Sound, is directed by Andy Fickman and features a talented cast led by Ailsa Davidson as Veronica Sawyer, Simon Gordon as J.D., Maddison Firth as Heather Chandler, Vivian Panka as Heather Duke, Teleri Hughes as Heather McNamara.

In addition to Heathers the Musical, Steam Motion and Sound have some exciting projects in the works. They are currently working on screen captures of other stage productions, including Waitress, Bonnie and Clyde (recorded at Theatre Royal Drury Lane), and The Prince of Egypt.
