Hamilton, the multi-award-winning musical, has announced further dates for its first UK tour.
Hamilton, which opens at the Manchester Palace Theatre in November 2023, will travel across the UK and Ireland until October 2025.
Following its Manchester run, the show will head to the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh from 28 February to 27 April 2024. New venues have been added to the tour, including the Bristol Hippodrome, the Birmingham Hippodrome, and the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.
The production will also visit the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin, the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford, the Mayflower in Southampton, the Liverpool Empire, the Sunderland Empire, the Theatre Royal in Plymouth, and the Norwich Theatre Royal.
Hamilton tells the story of America’s founding fathers through a mix of hip-hop, R&B, and traditional show tunes. It features book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire.
The show is based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography and has won numerous awards, including 11 Tony Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and an Olivier Award. Hamilton has been a box office smash in the West End, where it is currently booking until March 2024.
The tour will feature scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, sound design by Nevin Steinberg, and hair and wig design by Charles G. LaPointe. Casting for the tour has yet to be announced.
