Birmingham Pride 2013: Saturday Review!

On Saturday 25th May, TwitCelebGossip gained special backstage access to Birmingham Pride!

Birmingham Pride is an annual LGBT festival held in the streets of the Midlands city. This year saw acts such as JLS, Paloma Faith, Stooshe, Tich, Lucy Spraggan, Kitty Brucknell and Rylan Clark on the Main Stage!

The atmosphere at Birmingham Pride was brilliant- it was very colourful and the streets were packed with everyone having a good time and enjoying the sunny spells that casted over Birmingham!

First, TCG chatted to former X Factor contestant Kitty Brucknell. Her set consisted of some covers, and a ballad about her friend who went missing. She was wearing a black body suit, and long glittery false eyelashes! When Kitty came off stage, we managed to get a quick talk with her. Kitty was shaking a lot when she had just come off stage, but blamed all of her “after-gig adrenaline” for it!

After that TwitCelebGossip met 20 year old “Dumb” singer Tich. (If you would like to see our exclusive interview with Tich Click here!)

Tich sang five songs for the lively Main Arena audience. She sang “Breathe In Breathe Out”, “Seeing Red”, “I Knew You Were Trouble” (Cover, originally by Taylor Swift), “What I Meant To Say” and her debut single “Dumb”! We enjoyed her set so much, and she had the audience clapping their hands and going wild!

After bumping into the guys from boyband “The Mend” and former X Factor contestant Rylan Clark backstage, TwitCelebGossip couldn’t wait to go and see the headline act JLS do their hour long DJ set!

JLS came onto stage just after 6pm with an eruption of ear piercing screams from the audience. Oritsé, JB, Aston and Marvin started pumping up the crowd, it was great!. Aston showed off his world-famous backflip, JB and Oritse talked and interacted with the audience, whilst new-dad Marvin DJed. The boys even sang a little bit of their song “Hottest Girl In The World” to surprise the fans in the audience! The songs they DJed were chart toppers such as “La La La” by Rudeboy, “Beautiful People” by Chris Brown, and many more amazing party anthems.
