Myles Frost brings MJ the Musical to London’s West End in March 2024

Set to open at the Prince Edward Theatre in London on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, this highly anticipated musical will take audiences on a journey through the making of Jackson’s iconic 1992 Dangerous World Tour.

Tickets for MJ the Musical will go on sale starting Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Myles Frost made history by becoming the youngest actor ever to win the Tony Award. His remarkable portrayal of the late King of Pop in MJ earned him this prestigious accolade, along with the Theatre World Award. Now, Frost is set to bring his award-winning performance to London, captivating audiences with his incredible talent and capturing the essence of Michael Jackson like never before.

MJ the Musical transcends the signature moves and iconic sound of the pop legend, delving deep into his creative genius and collaborative spirit that propelled him to legendary status. Penned by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Lynn Nottage (known for her works Ruined and Sweat), and directed and choreographed by Royal Ballet Associate Artist Christopher Wheeldon OBE, MJ promises an immersive experience that will leave audiences in awe.

Christopher Wheeldon, who received a Tony Award for Best Choreography of a Musical for MJ, brings his expertise and visionary approach to the production. His previous award-winning directing credits include the critically acclaimed An American in Paris. With his direction and choreography, Wheeldon aims to showcase the multifaceted talent and captivating stage presence that made Michael Jackson an icon.

MJ garnered immense praise during its Broadway run, earning an impressive 10 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical. The musical secured four Tony Awards, including Best Actor in a Musical for Myles Frost, as well as awards for Best Choreography, Best Lighting Design, and Best Sound Design. The original cast recording also received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album, cementing the show’s excellence in both performance and production.

The creative team behind MJ comprises internationally renowned artists who have brought their expertise to the forefront. Scenic design by Tony Award and two-time Emmy Award winner Derek McLane (known for his work in Moulin Rouge! The Musical), lighting design by six-time Tony Award winner Natasha Katz (acclaimed for Once), and costume design by Tony Award and Emmy Award winner Paul Tazewell (renowned for Hamilton) contribute to the visual spectacle of the show. Sound design by Tony Award and Olivier Award-winning Gareth Owen (known for Come From Away), projection design by two-time Tony Award nominee Peter Nigrini (noted for Dear Evan Hansen), and hair and wig design by two-time Emmy Award nominee Charles LaPointe (famous for The Color Purple) complete the stellar team.

Under the musical supervision of Tony Award nominee David Holcenberg (renowned for Matilda), with orchestrations and arrangements by Holcenberg and Tony Award winner Jason Michael Webb (known for The Color Purple), MJ delivers a captivating auditory experience that pays tribute to the musical genius of Michael Jackson.
