Ben Miller has landed the role of a brand new villain in Doctor Who.
Ben Miller will face Peter Capaldi’s new Doctor in the next series of the hit sc-fi series. “As a committed Whovian I cannot believe my luck in joining the Twelfth Doctor for one of his inaugural adventures,” the actor and comic said. “My only worry is that they’ll make me leave the set when I’m not filming.”
Miller will appear in an episode written by Mark Gatiss and is set to air later this year. “Mark Gatiss has written us a storming villain for his new episode,” said lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat.
“With Capaldi in the TARDIS, we knew we needed somebody special to send everybody behind the sofa. And quite frankly, it’s about time Ben Miller was in Doctor Who!”
The actor is best known for the lead role in Death in Paradise as well as his appearances in the hit ITV show Primeval. Other guest stars joining Miller in the next series of Doctor Who include Tom Riley(Da Vinci’s Demons) and Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty).
