Avril Lavigne defends new music video!

Avril Lavigne has recently released a new music video called ‘Hello Kitty’, but some people have claimed the video is ‘racist’ towards Japanese culture.

In the music video, Avril sings in both English and Japanese whilst surrounded by a group of Asian dancers and people took to twitter to criticize the video.

Taking to Twitter herself, Avril found the accusations of racism in her video laughable and stated that the video was made especially for her Japanese fans.

She tweeted:

‘RACIST??? LOLOLOL!!! I love Japanese culture and I spend half of my time in Japan’.

The track was criticized by Billboard who described it as ‘an embarrassment in any language’.
