Ed Drewett has hit out at conspiracies about his appearance on Britain’s Got Talent after it became known that he has written songs for Simon Cowell artists including One Direction and Olly Murs.
Ed, who is a 25-year-old singer songwriter, has said he is “not actually connected” to Syco after saying he has fears that viewers will “start turning” on him.
Drewett went on to say “I’m not actually connected with One Direction at all; I never met Simon Cowell before any of the auditions.”
However, he does know how it looks and he “can completely see why people think, ‘Oh hang on, One Direction are with Syco, Syco do Britain’s Got Talent, they must be paying him’”.
He finished off that rumour with “Not at all. It’s just if someone wants a song, I’m going to give it to them, especially if they’re One Direction.”
Ed continued by saying “It’s an uneasy feeling [knowing# if it takes off and becomes a force that people will start turning on me.”
He also wrote The Wanted’s debut single ‘All Time Low’ for his own material but ended up giving the song away.
