The wait is nearly over, BTG fans! If you look closely, you can just see the live shows emerging from beneath the horizon.
Yep, the Britain’s Got Talent 2014 Live Shows will be hitting our TV screens oh-so-soon and you’ll get to see the final 45 acts chosen by the judges.
Auditions are still being aired but by the end of the month the chosen acts will each be rushed into hair and make-up and shoved onto the stage to battle it out for the public vote and to win a spot in the live finals! (It’s a bit like The Hunger Games, really. Except, you know, without the killing and stuff)
So when does this marvellous event start? The live semi-finals are set to start on Monday 26th May and will continue through the week. Each show will consist of 9 acts performing live for a chance to win A QUARTER OF A MILLION POUNDS! The winner will also secure a place at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.
Although the reigns will soon be handed over to the British public, the judges won’t be made redundant. Simon, Amanda, Alesha and David will of course be around to offer up their very diverse opinions. However, it really is all up to the public. After voting for their favourites, the act with the most public votes will automatically go through to the live final. *Dances badly to ‘I’ve Got The Power’*
The two runner-up contestants with the second and third highest votes will be at the judges’ mercy as only one of them will be picked to go through to the live final.
Excited already? Us too! The live shows will air Monday to Thursday from 7.30pm and each have a separate results show later from 9.30pm. There will not be a show on Friday night as there’s a football match between England and Peru on instead.
We do still need a fifth semi-final and of course a grand final which will be aired the week after. Details for these shows are yet to be confirmed. If we took an educated guess, based on last year, we assume the fifth semi-final will air on the Saturday instead of Friday and then the final will be a week later, on Saturday.
For now, keep watching the hilarious auditions as Britain’s Got Talent 2014 continues on ITV this Saturday night.
