George Michael was taken to hospital last Thursday (22nd May) after collapsing, according to reports.
The singer fell ill and collapsed in his North London home and his friend called an ambulance.
The 50 year old has battled with anxiety and depression in the past. He also had pneumonia in 2011.
Today, a statement was released by a spokesperson. It explained:
“In response to newspaper reports today we can confirm George was admitted to hospital on 22nd May. He was discharged last weekend and is well and resting. He is very much looking forward to the release of his new single in July.
“Given the personal nature of this matter there will be no further comment.”
It is yet to be confirmed about the nature of George’s collapse.
