Preparations for the launch of Drayton Manor Theme Park’s new thrill ride, Air Race, have been vamped up with the announcement that the UK’s hottest pop band, The Vamps, will officially open the new ride on Saturday 5th July.

The Vamps.

The British four-piece band, made up of Bradley Simpson, James McVey, Connor Ball and Tristan Evans, will officially launch the new £1.2 million ride and go on to be the first to ride it at the Staffordshire attraction this summer, ahead of their highly anticipated debut headline tour. The boys, whose hits include ‘Can We Dance’ and ‘Last Night’, have ‘High Hopes’ for the new ride, which will see them piloting their very own plane on the stomach-churning adventure.

Accommodating up to 24 riders at one time in six, four-seater aeroplanes, riders of Air Race will experience accelerations of almost 4G as they board the acrobatic aeroplane flight. With banks, loops, dives and weightlessness to test even the most experienced thrill seekers, Air Race promises to be the flight of your life.
