The Doctor Who world tour will kick off with a screening in Cardiff.
The world premiere of series 8 will be at St David’s Hall, where audiences will be able to watch ‘Deep Breath’ more than 2 weeks before it’s broadcasted on TV.
The premiere will take place on the 7th August, but the episode won’t be shown until Saturday 23rd August on BBC 1.
BBC Wales director Rhodri Talfan Davies said: “Doctor Who is getting even bigger and even better – and it’s a real thrill that the show’s fans here in Wales will be the very first to see the new Doctor at this very special premiere screening,”
“Doctor Who has been made in Wales for almost ten years – and we’re so proud of its worldwide success.”
New Doctor Peter Capaldi will also be at the event along with co-star Jenna Coleman, who plays the Doctor’s companion Clara.
Doctor Who: The World Tour will visit 7 cities across 5 continents in 12 days, with Peter and Jenna attending fan events and media interviews.
“It’s fantastic that so many people across the world love Doctor Who. After eight months solid filming deep in the world of monsters, Jenna and I are thrilled to be heading for the Planet of Fans.” Peter previously said of the tour.
Tickets for the premiere will be on sale from Monday 7th July.
