It was the first episode of the arena auditions last night but unfortunately for The X Factor, ratings have dropped again.
The ITV singing contest received 200k less viewers than last week’s room auditions, averaging at just 8.5 million.

Despite having a revamped panel of judges including Mel B and bringing back Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, the show sadly failed to show any signs of progression in ratings.
The equivalent episode in 2013 achieved high ratings of 9.1 million, peaking at 10.4 million.
The X Factor is set to go head-to-head with BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing on Friday 26th September, after ITV announced that they are going to air a special Friday edition of the singing contest.
Strictly Come Dancing has already won ‘Round One’, claiming 800k more viewers than The X Factor on the night of their launch show a week ago.
The X Factor continues tonight at 8pm on ITV.
