Miranda Hart has today confirmed that her BBC sitcom ‘Miranda’ will end after two Christmas specials.
You might think that ‘Miranda’ will end next year, since there are two Christmas episodes left. Wrong. The BBC sitcom will end this Christmas.
“I’m actually coming to the end of the whole sitcom,” Miranda Hart revealed on Steve Wright’s BBC Radio 2 show today (23rd October).
“So I’m doing two Christmas specials, but they are going to be the finale of the show, full stop. So I wanted to do a book to celebrate the series and celebrate all the people who have supported it and watched it, so they get to see the scripts and some backstage gossip and all that sort of thing.”
Apparently Miranda thinks it’s “the right time to end it” and wanted the programme to go out “on a high”.
The cast of ‘Miranda’ consists of Miranda (obviously), Sarah Hadland, Patricia Hodge, Tom Ellis and Sally Phillips.
The book, The Best of Miranda is out now in stores.
