Paul Akister has been eliminated tonight in the results show.
This week has been chaos for The X Factor and all involved as earlier in the week the theme was changed. The new theme the contestants had to take on was ‘Queen vs Michael Jackson’.
Two celebrity guests took to the stage before the results were announced tonight. The first time ever in X Factor UK history, Sam Smith performed his single ‘Like I Can’ and back to the very beginning One Direction performed their latest single ‘Steal My Girl’.
Then the results were announced.
The two unlucky contestants who had to battle against each other in the ultimate sing-off were Paul Akister and Jay James. Paul sang ‘Emeli Sande’s ‘Clown’ and Jay sang ‘Eric Clapton’s ‘Tears In Heaven’.
At the end of the sing-off the result was announced;
Simon voted for Paul to go home.
Cheryl voted for Jay to go home.
Mel voted for Jay to go home.
Louis voted for Paul to go home.
This means the results went to deadlock, leaving it down to the public votes as the judges couldn’t decide between themselves, this resulted in Paul Akister leaving.
