The Facts: Disney release teaser trailer for Star Wars VII!

Disney have shown the world the first insight into the brand new Star Wars film, with a teaser trailer that they released earlier today.

It’s been two years now since the announcement that George Lucas sold LucasFilm to Disney in 2012, a massive shock to the world and Sci-Fi fans everywhere. Many of them glad to see their favourite film franchise back after so many years. Although some rather concerned about how well Disney would pull it off.

Many celebrities have shown their excitement for the trailer, McBusted’s lead writer, vocalist and guitarist Tom Fletcher, who is a well known Star Wars lover, took to Twitter to share how he would be watching the trailer ‘When the Star Wars trailer arrives I’m going to a toilet cubicle with my headphones & I don’t want to be disturbed for at least 88 seconds’. Fletcher making a cheeky Back To The Future reference, which just so happens to be produced by Kathleen Kennedy who is working closely with JJ Abrams for the upcoming Star Wars movies.

It has been confirmed that Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher( Luke, Han and Laia) will all be back reprising their roles from the original trilogy. Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford, has been said to have a ‘gigantic role’ in the plot, shown in the trailer. The teaser also showed us that Peter Mayhew will be back to play the Wookie Chewbacca and that we should brace ourselves for some high speed peruses with the Millennium Falcon, which is now back in action.

Regarding the storyline, the Star Wars website stated that “Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi’, apart from this however, they have been totally secret about any of the plot, saying that ‘all will be revealed next year’.

The teaser has certainly taken the world by storm, creating a whole new level of buzz and excitement a whole year before the film is due for release. Can we wait that long?

‘Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens’ is set to hit Cinema’s in the December of next year (2015).
